3. Field and site technology
Sites combine inverters or turbine controllers, plant controllers, SCADA, weather and metering equipment, and battery management systems. Many devices ship with default credentials, web interfaces and vendor communication modules, and sites are physically remote and lightly staffed.
4. Remote operations, clouds and metering
Fleets are monitored and controlled through OEM cloud portals, asset management platforms and remote connections used by vendors and O&M contractors. Smart meters report to head-end systems that can also send commands and firmware updates. These remote paths are where a single compromise can affect many sites at once.
|
Highest-risk moments OEM portal accounts, fleet-wide commands, vendor remote access, firmware updates and site connectivity are where renewable incidents can affect many assets at once. |
